GLOBALCOOL THEMATIC SEMINARS IN BUCHAREST
The Novapolis Association- Center of Analysis and Initiatives for Development organized informative activities and 2 thematic seminars Friday, October 21st 2016 and Thursday, November 3rd 2016, within the “GlobalCool! Raising awareness and active involvement of young people with regard to development issues of the modern world” project.
The high school students in Bucharest were thus informed about global development issues and Post-2015 Development Agenda and enthusiastically participated within all the activities. The teenagers discussed the 17 Sustainable Development Goals, prepared dedicated materials and posters and delivered presentations on themes such as globalization, human rights and tolerance, access to education, poverty, climate change and hunger.
Within the seminars, the youngsters perfectly understood and showed that global change does in fact start with each of us.
The activities were organized with Mrs. Fayda Sarad’s support, from the Drumul Educației Foundation.
The next thematic seminars will be organized in the counties of Bacău, Buzău and Vrancea.
The GlobalCool project aims to implement an information and awareness-raising campaign among high school students, aged between 14 and 19, from Bucharest and the counties of Bacău, Buzău, Vrancea, with regard to the global development issues. The main topics that the project addresses are related to Post-2015 Development Agenda, focusing on aspects such as eradicating extreme poverty, gender equality, fair and inclusive education, decent work, migration and development.
The project is implemented for a period of 10 months (01.06.2016 – 30.03.2017) and is co-funded by the Romanian Government through RoAid – Romania’s Development Cooperation Programme.
