Learning the Romanian language – an essential step toward autonomy and integration

Under the Romanian language courses component of the ConstantaAID4Ukrainians: Help for Ukrainian Refugees and TCNs in Constanta and the South-East Region project, structured Romanian language courses were implemented between 2022 and 2026 to support the linguistic integration of refugees and third-country nationals.

During 2022–2024, 333 beneficiaries attended Romanian language courses, contributing to the development of basic communication skills necessary for daily life, work, and social integration.

In 2025–2026, the programme continued with 255 individuals, both adults and children, attending 3-month Romanian language courses at A2 level between January 2025 and March 2026.

Throughout the entire implementation period (2022–2026), almost 300 individuals received monthly financial incentives of 85 EUR per month, awarded according to the project’s eligibility criteria and participation requirements, in support of their engagement in the Romanian language courses.
