PRESS RELEASE

City Hall of Constanta from Romania joined the BTIN network

As partners from Romania, the Novapolis Association and the City Hall of Constanta inform about the Border Towns and Islands Network – BTIN that was established within the project Snapshots from the Borders.

We are glad to announce that Romania joined the BTIN network as starting with september 2020, when Constanta City Hall became full member of the network. Built as an innovative tool, the Network’s role is to strenghten and to expand the existing institutional relations, in order to solve the emerged issues related to solidarity and migrants reception. The BTIN is composed only by local authorities of towns that are located at the European borders, as full members. Its purpose is to promote cooperation and mutual support among border towns and islands to bring their voice to national, European and International decision-making institutions.

Constanta has several important benefits of being member of BTIN, such as the involvement in its long lasting activities, who will have an impact over the sustainable development of the city, also the simple fact of being together with other important cities, brings Constanta prestige and it offers the oportunity to be an active city at European level.

Moreover, the city of Constanta can benefit from support in order to develop sustainable policies, strategies and projects in the field of migration, based on the latest standards at European level.
