Foundation World Vision Romania, as a beneficiary, together with the Novapolis Association- Center of Analysis and Initiatives for Development- Partner 1 and the Civic Resources Center Constanta- Partner 2, organized between 2 to 3 February 2017 the Interim Regional Conference for Region 2: counties of Constanta, Tulcea, Braila, Vrancea, Bacau, Vaslui and Galati.
The Interim regional conference aimed to disseminate information on the opportunities, needs and benefits regarding the integration process of beneficiaries of international protection (BPs) and third-country nationals (TCNs) in Romania, and to facilitate the exchange of information and expertise for creating adequate conditions of implementation for social integration methods at local level and within the Region 2.
The conference brought together participants from all seven counties of Region 2 and included as main topics of the event: evolution of the migration phenomenon in the national and European context, statistical data on migration trends, the role of social dialogue and social partners in the integration of immigrants, and the importance of cooperation and networking between different stakeholders for migrants’ integration.
During the conference, the participants discussed the activities and results obtained in the project and debated areas of interest on the integration of BPs and TCNs, identifying fields of intervention and measures needed for the educational activities, including Romanian language and cultural orientation courses, social, cultural and recreational activities, health insurance, issues related to education and labor market integration, recognition of diplomas and qualifications, as well as other issues concerning the integration of BPs and TCNs in Region 2.
The event took place at Sinaia, within the project “INTEGRATION +: Services and assistance for migrants in Region 2”, funded by the National Programme- Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund (contract reference number: FAMI/15.03.02), with a duration of 12 months and a total value of 1.469.247,47 RON.
