Launching of the Regional Centre for Integration in Constanta, project Integration+ (FAMI/15.03.02)

Novapolis Association – Center of Analysis and Initiatives for Development – Partner 1, together with World Vision Foundation Romania, as Beneficiary, and Centre for Civic Resources Constanta – Partner 2 have organized Wednesday, 13th of July 2016, the launching event of the Regional Centre for Integration (CRI) in Constanta.

The inauguration event was held within the project „INTEGRATION+: Services and assistance for migrants in Region 2”, funded by the National Fund – Asylum, Migration and Integration (reference number Contract: FAMI/15.03.02). The project has a duration of 12 months and it has a total value of 1.469.247,47 RON.

With the occassion of the launching of the Regional Centre for Integration in Constanta have been presented the project „INTEGRATION+: Services and assistance for migrants in Region 2”, the assistance services provided within the project and the activities that are taking place in the Centre in Constanta. The event facilatated discussions on specific topics regarding the integration of beneficiaries of international protection (BP) and third-country nationals (TCNs) from Constanta, Tulcea, Braila, Vrancea, Bacau, Vaslui and Galati.

In the Regional Center for Integration Constanta migrants can benefit from a wide range of integrated services and assistance which will support their needs for social counselling and financial assistance, lend support in problem solving, information access and education, social and leisure time activities, psychological or legal advice, facilitating access and participation to the labour market and networking with local authorities. CRI Constanta aims to help strengthen the capacity of BP and TCNs to integrate in Romania and increase their chances to integrate into Romanian society through the delivery of information services, social counselling, psychological, legal and financial assistance. In addition, the CRI Constanta will organize Romanian language courses, orientation and cultural adaptation sessions, socio-cultural activities, recreational and special sessions of breaking cultural barriers which will promote mutual knowledge and understanding.

Participants included a number of representatives from local authorities and public institutions, Mr. Levent Accoium and Mr. Ersun Anefi, Constanta’ deputy prefects, highlighted their involvement in supporting the integration of migrants in Region 2. At the same time, the representatives of the General Inspectorate Immigration (GII), Ms. Ana-Maria Varzan presented the actions carried out by GII for the beneficiaries of international protection and third country nationals from vulnerable groups.

Moreover, the event benefited from the presence of representatives embassies and consulates, mass-media and communities of foreigners and of the participation of social partners and NGOs active in the field of immigration and integration of foreigners in Romania.
